Z had a great Christmas Day...he loved opening all the presents (and there were LOTS), but he doesn't care what's in them much...he was happy to rip and tear and hang with his family. He loved seeing Aunt Kim, Aunt Sharley and Unk...and of course his cousins and grandparents...he was a tired boy last night!

..and we're OFF!!!
We practiced a little all weekend as Z's balance is getting better and better...we'll he took a few steps! He can go about three and then he tumbles, but he's a trooper and he keeps trying! Here's a video!
Zack goes to Disneyland!
Zack's first trip to Disneyland was almost rained out, but we got the best scenario ever...no rain and very few people! Z had a great time and was awestruck by the lights and characters. He went on Pirate's, Haunted Mansion, Monsters Inc., and Nemo. He was smiley and happy all day. Here are a few pictures!

Turkey Day!
Zack had a really nice Turkey day playing at Aunt Sharley and Uncle Dean's. There was LOTS of wonderful food that Z enjoyed looking at...maybe we'll try it next year! We hope everyone had as nice a day as we did!
This is Columbia. He was outside munching grass. Zack really liked him. Columbia LOVES having his head scratched!

annnnnnnd...we're OFF!
So we still need a little help (Thank you, Mr. Lion), but we're off and walking...it's may not be pretty, but it's getting him around. Shouldn't be much longer now!
Z had a great time on his second trip to Cabo. He was well over his illness and was happy and excited during the whole trip. He did a lot of swimming and saw so many new things. It was a very different trip for him this time since he is mobile...we loved watching him soak it all in!

We are bad parents, but heck, it has calories in it!

Halloween Anniversary
I really wanted to crawl back under the covers today and stay in bed. I've been feeling sorry for myself and it's pretty pathetic. Zack has his bad days and his good days. We are in the process of trying a new medicine and he is scheduled for an upper GI on Monday to see if we can figure out what's going on. Luckily, my little munchkin doesn't let you just watch the day pass you by...he has schedules and needs and it all helps you to forget how lame you're feeling.
Besides, today is a really special day. Today is the one year anniversary of Zack coming home from the hospital. It was emotional and scary beyond belief. We had to actually care for this little thing on our own? He was so tiny and fragile! Kevin and I picked him up in the afternoon...spent time doing paperwork, taking lots of pictures and saying our farewells to the incredible staff at Tarzana's NICU. The nurses loved him so much and cared for him (and me) like he was their own. I spent a lot of nights in those rocking chairs feeling like I do today...sorry for myself and using up all their tissue (which probably cost me 4 bucks a tissue at hospital prices!)
In any event, Zack has come so far and is such an awesome kid...He smiles through everything and always makes me laugh...even when I don't want to. So Z...Happy Anniversary and Happy Halloween...may you never see the inside of a hospital again. Your mom and dad love you!

Standing tall
You say it's your birthday!!!!!!!!!!
Well, it's MY birthday, too!!
Zack had a wonderful first birthday. All his favorite people were there like Grandma, Auntie Kim, Auntie and Unk, Auntie Joni and so many more! We BBQ'd and Zack drank fruit punch out of a straw. He was spoiled rotten for the whole day and he deserved every minute of it. A big THANK YOU to everyone who shared in his day.
It's been a long and amazing year for Zack, Kevin and myself. We've had some hard times and some fantastic adventures and I wouldn't trade a minute of it. Zack, your mom and dad love you very much and we're so proud of how far you've come.

Saturday at the park
Today Zack went to our friend Lilli's 5th birthday party at the park. We had a blast. Here are some pictures..first, let's show off the teeth...
Then we got all dressed up...and chewed on Mom's lenscap.
Then we had our first drink of fruit punch...and really liked it...and really made a mess!
Then we played on the slide and went flying with Dad...
It was a good day!!

Picture Overload
I needed to get caught up on organizing photos...I take at least one every day, so there are LOTS! Here are a few of my favorites from the last week. Enjoy!
We're in trouble now...the climbing begins!
At my aunt's house for a bbq last weekend
Peeking over the back of the couch
I can FLY!
Cutest thing ever!!
This little piggy...

Catching up with Zack
Howdy everyone!
Normally I try to update the blog weekly, but it's been a few weeks. We've had some rough times lately...mostly to do with feeding (as most of you know). There's some light at the end of the tunnel, though...a front tooth is peeking through (that makes three for those of you at home with scorecards) and he's finally been healthy lately (we had a couple weeks with recurring fevers). On the developmental side, Zack is growing with leaps and bounds...he crawls as fast as lightning and Mom and Dad REALLY need to buy a couple baby gates!!! He's starting to put his feet underneath him to try to climb on things (Ack!) and he's showing a lot of interest in drinking from a cup (we got some cool new ones at Ikea). We'll be starting a new program to get some help on the feeding front and all will be well! Here are some pictures to catch you all up! I can't believe he is going to turn ONE in 25 days!
Here is a shot of the new tooth nub...look closely!
Here's Z at Grandma's house trying to climb up!
Here's a shot of Z and OUR lifesaver...the mesh feeder that holds an ice cube...amazing for teething!
